Andy Murray is in no rush to hire a replacement for Ivan Lendl, his coach Jamie Delgado has confirmed.
The three-time Grand Slam champion split from the Czech in surprise fashion on Friday night, as he continues his recovery from a hip injury ahead of the 2018 season.
With Lendl leaving Murray’s team, questions have been asked about who will replace him, with Tim Henman championing Delgado to step up to the role of head coach.
And Delgado confirmed that Murray is not focused on bringing anyone else in right now, as he targets full fitness ahead of his return to competitive action.
‘I don’t think so, not at the moment,’ Delgado said when asked if Murray was looking for a new coach.

‘From our point of view the first situation that we need to address is to get him totally fit and ready to play the new season.
‘I believe if we do that he will get back to a lot of success in the game again.
Henman is convinced Murray’s experience of the sport will see him through, and there’s no need to change up his team too much in Lendl’s absence.

‘With Andy’s experience and knowledge of the game, I wouldn’t think he needs to bring another person into the team,’ he told the BBC.
‘He’s got Jamie who played to a decent level and did a very good coaching job with Gilles Muller first, and has been with Andy for a good couple of years and understands him as well as anyone.’
