Atletico Madrid has all but confirmed his main man Antoine Griezmann is heading to Premier League giants Manchester United after reports emerged on Wednesday about a deal between the two clubs.
The 25-year-old French man finished 3rd in the Ballon d’Or race in 2016 after helping his country reach Euro 2016 final. He was also instrumental in Atletico Madrid journey to Uefa Champions League final which again he lost to Real Madrid.
Simeone has now said he will not prevent him from moving to Old Trafford if the club is ready to pay for his release clause and the player wants to move.
“I don’t tie anybody down,” said Simeone.
“I simply keep working to continue getting better for the sake of the club.
“Griezmann is in an extraordinary moment, is working well, has got back on the scoresheet and his form is good.
“It is normal that the best teams in the world want him. I am not surprised that the teams who are looking are the ones who can afford him.”
The tricky attacker has so far scored 12 goals in only 25 appearances this season. He is expected to join the Red Devils next summer if the deal goes through.
