Andre Ayew Dede has drawn level with Ghana’s all-time leading Africa Cup of Nations goal scorers – and surpassed his father’s tally – after his penalty in the win over Uganda on Tuesday.
The West Ham United attacker netted a penalty in the first half to see Ghana defeat the Cranes 1-0 in their Group D opener at Port-Gentil.
Ayew’s penalty was his seventh goal in an AFCON and sees him draw level with Asamoah Gyan and Osei Kofi as Ghana’s all-time leading scorers in the tournament.
The 27-year-old will look to continue his form when Ghana face Mali in their second Group D clash on January 21.
