Ghana plans to host the 2038 FIFA World Cup as part of its 40-year development plan - A yet to be constructed iconic stadium, "Black Star Stadium", will be constructed with the 'best 21st Century technology - Ghana has not hosted a FIFA World tournament or the Olympic Games in its history Plans are underway for Ghana to improve its sporting infrastructure in a bid to stand as possible candidates to host the 2038 FIFA World Cup.
A 40-year national development plan, put forward by the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), includes plans to have Ghana host football's biggest international showpiece in the next 21 years. Dr. Nii Moi Thompson Discussing the content of the long-term national development plan, the Director-General of the NDPC, Dr Nii Moi Thompson, said Ghana is capable to hosting the global tournament, but was quick to add that deficits in the country's infrastructure and finance must first be taken care of.
