Sokkaa Premier League Team of the Week: Jesus the Saviour of Man City, Lukaku scores FOUR

Premier League game 24 is down and we are getting closer to the finish line. Chelsea are running away with the title, Liverpool and Arsenal are crumbling and Manchester Clubs are back on their feet. So who makes Sokkaa Premier League team of the week today?

System: 4-3-3

Goalkeeper:

Thibaut Courtois- Chelsea

The Saturday afternoon was rather easy for the League leaders Chelsea. They dismantled a team that thrashed them 3-0 at Emirates not so long ago. However things could have gone wrong if the Blues shot stopper Thibaut Courtois did not make two important saves. If Gabriel header and Danny Welbeck strike went in the story will be very different this morning.
Sunderland keeper Vito Mannone had a great day against Crystal Palace too but looking at the opposition, the Stamford Bridge man carry the day.

Defenders

Right back: Antonio Valencia (Manchester United)

Ecuador winger-cum-defender Antonio Valencia had a field day against a hapless Leicester City side at King Power Stadium. He just run and crossed every ball without much resistance from the home side and one of them found Zlatan Ibrahimovic unmarked. He scored to take his league tally to 15.

Centre back: Harry Maguire (Hull City)

Hull City is back fighting. They got a well deserved draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the middle of the week and destroyed Liverpool at home on Saturday. Harry Maguire literally stopped Zlatan and his colleagues and he had four blocks against Liverpool to silence the noisy Kop.

Centre back: Lamine Kone (Sunderland)

eft back: Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)

Chelsea fans are starting to see the return of Ashley Cole in the left back position but this time he is called Marcos Alonso. What a goal against a hapless and defenceless Arsenal side. He is a wing back but believe it or not he had the highest number of shots against the Gunners.

Midfielders

Henrikh Mkhitaryan- Manchester United

The Romanian is roaring in the Premier League and Anthony Martial is suffering on the bench. A goal of his own and second half assist to Juan Mata to cap off another momentous day for him. Jose Mourinho said he is right to drop the French man for the former Dortmund winger and we can all with him agree now.

N’Golo Kante- Chelsea

You will wait all day to hear the pundits and commentators praise N’Golo Kante. They literally don’t recognize his efforts until later in the match when it’s too late. Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin will however tell you he had a tough day dealing with the French man. He is so clinical in the middle of the pitch and Leicester City knows that very well by now.
He is set to win back-to-back Premier League titles with two different teams in two consecutive years. That will be a record of its own not seen in Premier League just yet.
Ivory Caost defender Lamine Kone just arrived from Africa Cup of Nations but David Moyes threw him straight in the team. He was what Black Cats needed. He had a wonderful show in the 4-0 win over fellow relegation candidates Crystal Palace. He capped the great day with a goal of his own.

oss Barkley- Everton

Everton demolished Bournemouth 6-3 at Goodison Park on Saturday. Forward Romelu Lukaku scored four but the man in the mix of all that was Ross Barkley. He scored the sixth of the day, assisted another and displayed his maturity finally after the long wait. England can now celebrate, their man has come of age.

Forwards

Romelu Lukaku- Everton

Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku scored four goals against Bournemouth on Saturday. The match had nine goals and the home side score six. It was certainly a great day for Goodison Park faithful. It is not many times you see your top striker score four or even win with six goals. It was a great day indeed for Ronald Koeman.

gabriel Jesus- Manchester City

What a start! I want to believe all Manchester City fans can’t believe what they just got from Brazil. He has not even settled in the City just yet and he has three goals in as many matches. Gabriel Jesus just arrived in January but he has already challenged one of the most consistent and prolific strikers.
The 19-year-old has literally come for one main purpose, to save Pep Guardiola season and he is doing just that. He scored and assisted in the mid-week 4-0 win against West Ham. On Saturday he went further to grab a brace to hand City all three points. I mean who needs Aguero when you have the saviour.

Joshua King- Bournemouth

Manchester United fans needs to look away now. Their academy product Joshua King grabbed his first ever double against Everton on Saturday. His team lost 6-3 at the end but since his job is to score goals, he fully deserves to be in this list. Bournemouth will be happy with his return.
