The Chillean has turned down several contract extensions from the Gunners because he wants more money. At the age of 28 years, he knows this might be the biggest and the very last deal in his career
De Gea to get a new mega deal
Manchester United is reportedly planning to silence Real Madrid interest on David de Gea. The Red Devils top hierarchy is understood to be considering a massive pay rise to keep the Spaniard away from Los Blancos claws.
The shots stopper got a new deal in 2015 when his transfer to Santiago Barnabeu collapsed. The deal was worth £200k-a-week. Now the club want to raise that to close to £300k-a-week. The goalkeeper signed for the Red Devils in 2011 from Atletico Madrid.
Top four will Leave us far behind
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has lamented the lack of Premier League action until 4thMarch. The Red Devils will be involved in FA Cup, Europa League and EFL Cup final for the rest of February. They will allow the rest of the top four teams to play and expand the two points gap.
“They will leave us,” Mourinho said.
“The other teams will have points so, for sure, it’s going to happen.
“That’s the way it is. I don’t think it is easy, because you want to play the competition, but at the same time we have motivation.
“We play the Europa League, so let’s enjoy the Europa League. We also have a cup final. I don’t believe anyone goes to Wembley not happy to go, so we go, we play.
“We know in this moment that Southampton are probably going to have some days off. I don’t know if they go to a summer camp to some nice, beautiful place with nice weather to prepare for the final.
“The only thing I know is their next game is the final and we have to play three matches during this period. We have to train in this cold weather, we have to train on bad pitches at this time, because the weather doesn’t help the pitches.
“So our situation isn’t easy. But we have to enjoy it, because it’s to play football, it’s to play important matches.”
