Rafael Nadal may be one of the most famous sporting faces on the planet but that didn’t stop him encountering an awkward moment with security at the Paris Masters.
The world No. 1 – who has won two Grand Slams in 2017 – was caught on camera encountering probably the only member of staff on site who didn’t recognise him, while making his way from the changing rooms to the courts. As he approached a secure area, the guard asked Nadal to show his security card and initially wouldn’t let him through.
‘Hello sir, have you got your pass?’ he asked the 16-time Grand Slam winner.
Gagner 10 Roland Garros ne donne aucun passe droit..🏆😂

Nadal, who withdrew from the tournament due to a knee injury before facing runner-up Filip Krajinovic in the quarter-finals, replied: ‘I don’t have it with me.’
After originally not allowing the 31-year-old to pass, the guard’s stance soon changed when the Spaniard revealed his identity and he quickly stepped aside.
