Premier League leaders Chelsea have been reportedly planning for a move to bring back Everton striker Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford bridge at the end of the current season.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was said to have requested a series of reinforcements he considers essential to the more demanding task of challenging for next season’s Champions League.
With Spanish striker Diego Costa still disgruntled by Chelsea’s failure to improve his Stamford Bridge contract, Conte continues to see Lukaku who is open to such a switch as a ready-made replacement should a deal be agreed with the centre forward’s current employers.
On the other hand, Liverpool and Manchester City will go into battle to sign Borussia Dortmund hotshot Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabonese striker is tagged with the sum of £40 million, and Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp wants to be reunited with Aubameyang but rival boss Guardiola could move if Sergio Aguero leaves the Etihad at the end of the current season.
