7 Best Players who are Legends at Three Different Clubs

For a football players to be called a legend to a certain club requires to have done a great job at that club. Some great players have managed to be called so in more than one club. Today we are going to look at footballers who were called legends in three clubs.

7. Pavel Nedved – Sparta Prague, Lazio and Juventus

Nedved joined Sparta Praha in 1992. He made more than 100 appearances at the club and won the title in the 1992-93 season. The Czech then moved to Lazio in 1996 and was an instant hit as he helped them win the Serie A title and two Coppa Italia after which he was sold to Juventus in 2001. He perfectly filled the void left by Zinedine Zidane who had left the club few days before, and helped them win two Serie A titles.

6. Clarence Seedorf – Ajax, Real Madrid and AC Milan

Seedorf started his career at Ajax becoming part of a golden generation that won two Eridivisie titles, one KNVB Cup and one UEFA Champions League. He then moved to Real Madrid and helped them to win Champions League. The former Netherlands international then moved to AC Milan where he played his best football of his career. He was part of the dominating Milan squad that won two champions League trophies and two Serie A titles in the noughties.

5. Rui Costa – Benfica, Fiorentina and Milan

The Portuguese started his career at his home club Benfica. He spent four seasons there, winning one league title and Taca de Portugal. The portuguese veteran later on moved to Fiorentina. He spent more than half a decade, playing the best football of his career there. He then joined AC Milan, winning a Seria A title, an Italian Cup and a UEFA Champions League trophy.

4. Edwin van der Sar – Ajax, Fulham and Manchester United

Edwin van de Sar is the second and last Dutch to appear on this list. He started his senior career at Ajax Amsterdam, winning four Eridivisie titles, three KNVB cups, one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Champions League trophy. The former Dutch international shocked the world with a move to Fulham after failing to impress at Juventus. He spent four good seasons with Lilywhites before moving to Manchester United. He was impressive at Old Trafford too, winning four Premier League titles, two League cups and one UEFA Champions League trophy.

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Ajax, Internazionale and Paris Saint-Germain

The Manchester United star played for many different clubs and has been successful with almost all of them. Starting with Ajax, he won two Eridivisie titles and one KNVB Cup. After a few seasons with Juventus, he moved to Inter Milan, scoring 66 times in 110 appearances and help them win three consecutive Serie A titles. He then moved to Barcelona but didn’t stay longer at Camp Nou, he moved to AC Milan and then to Paris Saint Germain. Ibracadabla was more than a super star at PSG even with his ageing and it is very impressive how he scored 156 goals in 180 matches for the French outfit. He is now building his name in Premier League.

2. Johan Cruyff – Ajax, Barcelona and Feynoord

Cruyff started with Ajax and played with them for more than ten years, winning six league titles and three European cups. He joined Barcelona later on, becoming an instant hit. He again joined Ajax and despite winning two league titles he was sold to rivals Feynoord whom he helped win a double the following season.

1. Xabi Alonso – Real Sociedad, Liverpool and Real Madrid

The Spanish started his senior career at Real Sociedad in 2000, he made 114 appearances at the club and helped them to qualify for the Champions League and provided spectacular performances time and again. He later on joined Liverpool and only got better with his passing and reading of the game and won the Champions League in 2005. The Spanish veteran then joined Real Madrid, where he made 158 appearances, helping them win one La liga title and their much awaited La Decima. He is now playing at Bayern Munich.
