Arsenal fans can enjoy a glass of wine this evening after three first team players Laurent Koscielny, Francis Coquelin and Olivier Giroud signed new long term deals today.
Wenger said: “We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term. Francis has made tremendous technical strides over the past few years because he’s so focused every day.
“Olivier has big experience in the game now and has become a more and more complete player since joining us. Laurent is of course a key part of our squad and I believe one of the best defenders in the world today. So overall, this is great news for us.”
Koscielny confirmed in Twitter that he will remain at Emirates until the year 2020. At the age of 31, this means he is likely to end his career at the club.
However, many Arsenal fans are keenly waiting for their key players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to sign new deals at the club. Both players have refused to sign new deals as they try and push for better wages.
