Burkina Faso are through to the semi-final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.
The West African side defeated their North African opponents 2 – 0 in the quarter final played at the Stade d'Angondje.
After a goaless first forty-five minutes, Aristide Bance who was introduced in the 76th minute fired home five minutes later off a freekick to put his side ahead.
Bance would have doubled the lead for the Stallions but his close ranged effort came off the wood work in the 82nd minute to give the Tunisians hope.
The Carthage Eagles continued to search for the all important equalizer but were stunned when Prejuce Nakoulma pounced on a counter attack.
He had acres of space to beat goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi and slotted the ball into empty net to confirm his side’s place in the semi-final. It ended Burkina Faso 2 – 0 Tunisia.
The Burkinabes will now meet the winner of the tie between DR Congo and Ghana in the semi-final.
